Physicians have made some calculations about spontaneous abortions. It turned out that 25% of all human pregnancies abort spontaneously with three out of four miscarriages occurring during the first three moths of pregnancy. Some women evidently have a tendency to miscarry.  Reappearing miscarriage makes a great risk of an unsuccessful delivery.

It is difficult to determine certain causes of miscarriage, but two of them are found in about half the cases. They are abnormal development of the embryo or of the placental tissue, which links the embryo to its mother. These abnormalities may be caused by inheriting faults of the germ cells (sperm or egg cells), or by tautly implantation of the developing fertilized egg, or by other features of the mother’s healthy nvironment.

Different scientific experiments with animals have shown one more reason of miscarriage, it is severe vitamin deficiency. Such hormone deficiency also has been found in women who are inclined to reappearing miscarriage. Some other reasons of miscarriage have been found such as acute infectious disease, systemic diseases (kidney disease, diabetes), and serious injuries. The premature expulsion of the fetus also can be cased by uterine malformations, including tumors, special anxiety, and other psychological disturbances.

There is also one the most common symptom of threatened miscarriage, it is vaginal bleeding, with or without spasmodic pain. Approximately one-fourth of all pregnant women bleed sometimes through early pregnancy, in spite of this even up to 50% of these women have full term pregnancy. To make the risk of the miscarriage lesser physician may prescribe a bed rest, and vitamin or hormone therapy. Sometimes there is a big necessary in surgical correction of uterine abnormalities.

Sometimes it happens that the embryo dies and remains in the uterus for weeks or even months, it is so-called missed abortion. In such cases, most physicians offer to provide the surgical removal of any leftover embryonic or placental tissue. In other way irritation or infection of the uterine lining may occur.
