| The Process of Healing | Almost everyone who has had lots of recovery and healing from traumatic experiences and loss will tell you that you never stop healing this.
Up till now, for numerous people a decisive moment comes when they can say, “I am not in that black hole any more.”
Please, keep trying until you find a sympathetic therapist or program that suits you.
If you have already tried a certain therapist or support group, and you still frequently experience one or more of the following symptoms in relation to abortion:
Uncontrollable thoughts and feelings that began after the abortion procedure
Flashbacks and/or nightmares
Self-hatred
Suicidal thoughts and feelings
Anxiety and depression
Lack of affection to your children
Disgrace
Relationship difficulties
Social isolation
Addictive behaviors that began after abortion
If you experience such symptoms then you should be urged to try the other program or therapist. As they say in 12-step programs, "You are not a failure until you fail to try."
